Dear Parent/Carer
As we find ourselves faced with a challenging time in education and across all areas of society, I wanted to write to you about your child’s transition to Irlam and Cadishead Academy. One such challenge is the support and communication with families which we value highly at Irlam and Cadishead Academy.
We recognise that the transition process can be a potentially anxious time for some Year 6 students and their parents/carers. We therefore want to make sure that any anxiety is minimised, so your child feels excited and ready to join us in September 2021. Whilst we hope that schools will be able to open at some point this year for visits, for now, we will continue our transition programme virtually for our year 6 cohort. We understand there is a possibility that schools will continue to be closed throughout this academic year, therefore, we feel it is prudent that we plan for a transition programme that will be delivered remotely.
We are currently in communication with all feeder primary schools about our transition programme and have been discussing plans to support your child. Consequently, we may be in contact with you again to discuss further details and updates about our transition programme.
In the meantime, may I encourage you to try some of our Transition activities on our Website by clicking this Link. This is a fantastic opportunity for children to be introduced to the type of work they will be expected to complete once they are students here at Irlam and Cadishead Academy.
Finally, please be assured that your child and their transition is at the forefront of our mind and feel free to contact myself or Mrs Lightfoot, Head of Year 7 via [email protected]
In the meantime, I wish you all good health and best wishes during these testing times.
Mrs J Sweeney - Assistant Principal
