Performing Arts

The world of theatre can enrich, engage and ignite students' creativity. At Irlam and Cadishead Academy, we deliver drama lessons that cover a range of topics such as soap operas, Greek theatre and hate crime.

Each year, students study a topic based scheme, a scripted project, a devised task and a performing task. Students have the opportunity to create, explore, rehearse and perform from a range of theatre skills.

In addition to drama curriculum lessons, the Department also offer two lunchtime Drama Clubs, Stretch sessions, whole college production and a yearly talent show.

Students can attend a weekly Dance Club after school as well as auditioning for the gifted and talented dance company 'Gravitate'.

MAPAS offer private instrumental lessons to students in a variety of instruments. Choir Club runs once a week and performs regularly at school events.
