Values & Ethos

Aspire – We are ambitious for our students’ achievements.  Every day, our students work to the best of their ability, both inside and outside the classroom, within our taught curriculum and co-curricular opportunities.  Irlam & Cadishead College expects all students to achieve their targets and perform to the best of their ability.  We are proud to celebrate success, which we do continuously throughout the year.  At the end of each year we celebrate hard work and achievement at a Prize-giving ceremony – a prestigious event that recognises the achievements of our students both academically and beyond.

Work Hard – Our students are consistently encouraged to achieve to the best of their ability throughout the whole of their school life. The staff at Irlam & Cadishead College ensure that all students aim to achieve their ‘target grades and beyond’. By regularly rewarding students for both academic and personal achievements and showcasing the ‘top achievers’ for each year group, students feel compelled into achieving in all aspects of their education.

Respect – Irlam & Cadishead College has been recognised nationally for their proactive work against all forms of bullying, including homophobia and racism.  At all times, students epitomise the best of a young generation, working together to tackle challenges found in our society.  Our students wear their uniform with pride.  As ambassadors for the school they embrace our core values of believing in  themselves, aspiring to be their best, achieving their full potential and respecting themselves and others.

Achieve – Our students are consistently encouraged to achieve to the best of their ability throughout the whole of their school life. The staff at Irlam & Cadishead College ensure that all students aim to achieve their ‘target grades and beyond’. By regularly rewarding students for both academic and personal achievements and show casing the ‘top achievers’ for each year group, students feel compelled into achieving in all aspects of their education.

Believe – We are incredibly proud to deliver an Education with Character – an education that challenges, inspires and excites our students and prepares them for the ups and downs of life. As well as ensuring our students succeed in exams, we aim to develop character, compassion and a sense of responsibility. We want students to stretch themselves, to persist in the face of difficulty and become resilient to overcoming obstacles. We want every one of our students to leave Irlam and Cadishead College with learned knowledge, skills, experiences and memories which will contribute to their personality, support them on their life’s journey and remain with them throughout their lives.
