KS3 & 4
Key Stage 3 (KS3)
Curriculum subjects taught include; English, Math’s, Science, History, Geography, RE, Technology, Art, Performing Arts and PE. Personal, Social and Health Education, and Citizenship are delivered through the Tutorial Programme. Our fully equipped specialist rooms are used for Information Technology, Technology, Art, Performing Arts and Science.
In Year 7 students are initially in mixed ability groups and later reset based on validated data and baseline assessments. All students will study French for their Modern Foreign Language. In Technology students study Food, Textiles, Graphics and Resistant Materials.
In Year 8 and Year 9, setting occurs in English, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography, RE and Modern Foreign Languages.
Key Stage 4 (KS4)
We continue to offer the Core Subjects to all students which include GCSE English Language and English Literature, GCSE Mathematics and Science. We offer students the EBacc pathway, the opportunity to study a choice of Geography, History and Modern Foreign Language, French. All students will choose History or Geography and most will study a Modern Foreign Language.
All students study GCSE Sciences, Core and Additional Science or Triple Science – Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Additionally, all pupils will study another option, either a GCSE or Vocational subjects and can choose from an extensive list.
All students take PE and complete the European Computer Driving License as part of their core timetable. Students who take Triple science will take one of the sciences subjects as an option.
