The newly formed ICC girls’ rugby team travelled to Ellesmere Park on Tuesday 16th May to play against Ellesmere Park High School in only their second ever game.

The girls performed exceptionally well and are making real progress on the rugby field. Sophie Lister was a constant threat throughout the game; her pace and trickery enabling her to score two tries. Millie Chan was excellent in defence, making numerous tackles in important areas to prevent the opposition form scoring.

The game was played over two 25 minute periods and was contested in a real positive manner by the two schools. Ellesmere Park got the better of the first half and outscored ICC. The Station Road team dusted themselves off at half http://www.buydiazepamtop.com time and came out in the second half and put on an excellent display of Rugby Union. ICC outscored Ellesmere in the second period with Megan Dunn and Macie Shuttelton performing exceptionally well in their first ever game respectively.

Mr Prescott explained, “The girls are making lots of progress on the rugby field. Considering this group has only just started playing the game, the strides they are making week on week is an absolute credit to them. We are already looking forward to more fixtures after the half term break. “

Chris Coop from the RFU is keen on arranging a festival of rugby in June. Girls’ rugby is certainly taking off at ICC. Watch this space!
