Siemens Rollercoaster Challenge

The key stage 3 girls’ rugby team hosted a Walkden High School team in what was their first ever game. Counterparts Walkden, had already played a number of games before arriving at Station Road on Monday 20th March 2017. The girls, led by captain, Poppi Cooke, put in a spirited performance and were leading the game with 10 minutes on the clock. Geography Trip to University of Manchester

In March Irlam & Cadishead Year 9 Geographers headed out to the University of Manchester to take part in an ‘Insight into Geography Day.’ The students found themselves in the role of undergraduate for the day, having the opportunity to experience ‘A day in the life of a Geographer’ at this Russell Group University. Arabic Taster Lessons

Once again our Modern Foreign Linguists have been developing their skills. Eight of our Year 9 students; Tom Smith, Libby Barker, Ben Thomas, Kira Mulvey, Abbie Rowbotham, Leonie Brown, Kim Magee and Sarah Hobson have been taking part in a project with the University of Manchester. They have been learning a new language, Arabic. Learning this language provides an extra challenge.
